Mollans-sur-Ouvèze
13 km from Vaison-la-Romaine From the Middle Ages on, Mollans was a fortified place as well as a commercial centre, due to its location, ahead of Le Buis. It was a fief which, in the 13th century was divided into 2: and it therefore boasts 2 castles, 2 parishes, and 2 monasteries. Up until the 19th century there was a famous fair that took place here (La Foire de Saint-Marc), where the lambs from the region were traded. Nowadays, every July, there is a Festival "Les Peintres dans la Rue" (Painters in the street), where artists and painters from everywhere exhibit their works in the narrow streets of the village. |
